It’s happenin Captonin

Ziva was just dropped off at the Vet and today it is happening. All X-rays, blood work, and test are confirmed recheck and reconfirmed. My Vet and I are confident we are taking the best course of action for Ziva.
Now it’s just a waiting game till I get the first phone call that surgery went well, and then the second phone call to bring my girl back home.
After yesterday’s emotional roller coaster I’ll be glad when Ziva is back home and resting.
Stay tuned for the updates I was hoping to have yesterday!!
Thank you everyone!

Are you F*****g kidding me

So the surgery has been rescheduled for Wednesday am now.
We had her left leg checked before we amputate her right and the found some unusual areas on the X-ray. So those were sent off to the radiologist and everything went on hold till we heard back from him.
Went to pick up Ziva and the radiologist called while I was there. He said that everything is good and the questionable area was because she has been using that leg more than before.
Sooooo I get to do this one more night, no sleep worry etc. but the good news is her lungs are all clear and at least we know for sure and didn’t make a huge Mistake.
So I guess tomorrow Ziva will join the Tripaws nation.

Men don’t cry

I dropped Ziva off at the Vet this am and her surgeon Dr Allen came out and talked with me for a bit.
I’ve been spoiling Ziva and she was about 5lbs over her normal weight but the Dr said that ok for now. Well get her back down after she heals up.
Also her lung X-rays were clear so that’s good. She gonna check her left leg just to be safe and also prevent any unnecessary pain or surgery.
So I’m at my business that is closed due to Covid-19 and I’ll try to get some work done locked in by myself. I’ll wait for the phone call and hopefully all good news.
The drive back to my shop is only two block from my vet and I sobbed like a baby all the way here. WOW this is probably the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do.
But thanks to your support and my wife’s support we are gonna be alright.
I’ll post some after pics later time permitting.

Fentynal time

It’s Monday April 20th and today I take Ziva in to get her fentynal patch put on.
Tomorrow is surgery day and I’m nervous as hell. Still having the ” am I doing the right thing” thoughts and change my mind about every 20 minutes.
I’m going to ask my Vet to check her lungs and possibly X-ray her left leg as well. She’s been licking that one and that was the first sign of the cancer on her right leg. Hopefully there won’t be any signs in either spot, this would be very bad.
Anyway I’ll keep this up to date and fingers crossed for the best result we could hope for.

Zivas Journey is brought to you by Tripawds.
